Windows asks me to use an old password that i dont remember ? What to do in this situation?That happend when i tried to go safe mode or whatever they call it

Email clients not remembering passwords

Hi all

A friends computer will not remember his gmail password. He used to use outlook, and seeing that I use thunderbird and it would be easier to troubleshoot I installed that for him. Now that was working for a few weeks, and now the same problem is occuring.

We are 100% sure the password is correct, as we can access the email account through webmail, but the local clients will not remember the correct password. Of course the 'Remember password' button is checked, but still no good.

It returns with incorrect password.

Any suggestions?

To enable Cortana you need to login with your Microsoft Account. Since Cortana requires your Microsoft credentials to provide you best assistance, it will ask you to type in your old password, which is, your current local account
password.

I suggest you to enter the password you had set and check if you are able to change the password. If you fail to remember the password, I suggest you to change the login password from the link below and try logging in to your
user account and check if the issue is resolved.

After resetting the password, you can change the system password and use the same to login into the user account.
