  1. Windows Audio and Video playback goes haywire when USB headset is plugged in

Hello, Ever since the W11 24H2 update, I've been having this problem with my laptop when I plug my USB headset in. Whenever I plug my headset, doesn't matter what the playback is whether a game, Xbox voice chat, YouTube, or **** after some time like a minute the video or the graphics stop and start stuttering with no sound coming after. I first thought It had something to do with the specific USB port but it continued with the other ports as well, then I updated my graphics driver but that also did not help. I tried updating my audio drivers but did not work at all. The only thing that seems

    :)

  2. Audio playback through USB headset and Speakers

    Hi Max,

Your USB headset and your speaker need to be configured properly in order for you to use them at the same time. To do that, please follow the steps below:

    • In the taskbar, right-click the Sound icon and click Sounds.
    • Under the Playback tab, do a right-click on your speaker and click
      Set as Default Device
      .
    • Click Apply, then OK.
    • Open the Sound window again.
    • Under the Playback tab, do a right-click on your headset and click
      Set as Default Communication Device
      .
    • Move to the Recording tab.
    • Right-click Microphone and click Properties.
    • Click the Listen tab and check the box for Listen to this device.
    • Under Playback through this device, select your headset from the list.
    • Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, please check if both devices are working at the same time.

    Let us know the result.

    Regards.

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

    Step by step fix:
    • I went into recording devices
    • I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
    • Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
    • Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't
Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

Windows Audio and Video playback goes haywire when USB headset is plugged in

    USB Headsets

Is there a way to set Windows so that it automatically cuts the speakers and has the USB device as default audio output when plugged in? This way I don't have to shut off whatever video/music/game that's currently played just so the audio will come out of the headset.
