Windows 10: Windows background changed to a cropped picture of browser (google logo) while League of...

It's an oddly specific title, but I just want to make sure I haven't been hacked. With all this new technology about DeepFake face swaps, I think its natural to be a little paranoid.

Anyways, here's the story.

I'm playing League of Legends (LoL), then suddenly my game glitches. I can't move my character, but I can see my mouse, and my mouse icon changed back to the Windows mouse icon (for those who don't know, LoL has its own mouse icon). I try alt-tab because it was an issue before, but it won't work. As in, I can't alt-tab out of LoL. I try CTRL-ALT-Delete to summon Task Manager, and while I was able to open the screen that says "Preparing Security Options: Lock, Sign Out, Task Manager" when I clicked Task Manager, nothing happened, I just went back to LoL. I was able to get out after I choose Sign Out, but my wallpaper changed to a cropped picture of the Google Logo. I had my browser open because I wanted to look up some guides on LoL characters, and the logo now appears as my wallpaper, and the rest of the screen is black. It's like the logo was pasted on a black background.

Changing the background back to how it was is no problem, but is there a way to know if someone is hacking me? I don't really know how hacking works, and I'm imagining it as someone just snooping around in my computer, but is there a way to know that someone either remotely connected to my computer, or somehow has access to my files?

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

• Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
• Are you referring to desktop background image or lock screen image?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the background picture and check if it helps.

• In the search type as ‘Settings’ and click on it.
• Select ‘Personalization’, under ‘Background’ option select as ‘Picture’.
• Under ‘Choose your picture’ select any picture accordingly or you can browse the picture from your computer.

Sorry for the delay in response



I would suggest you to try the following steps:

• 
  Open Desktop Background by right clicking on the desktop clicking Personalization
  
• 
  Click the picture or color that you want to use for your desktop background.
  
• 
  If the picture you want to use isn't in the list of desktop background pictures, click an item in the Picture location list to see other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer.
  When you find the picture that you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background.
