Windows 10: Windows Background Changing Unexpectedly

I upgraded a Windows 7 PC to WIndows 10 recently and everything went smoothly. The Anti-Virus was an old Trend-Micro and I was a bit slow and upgrading it. Before I upgraded the Trend Micro something weird happened, the WIndows Desktop changed from my usual background to the picture of the "Alien" staring out at me; this spooked me. I hunted around the internet and found some information to disabling the syncing of themes; stopping slide shows in the power options and have done both. The Trend-Micro has been upgraded and a full scan done - no virus found - I am not convinced.


There are a few unanswered questions:

1. Why did the theme change in the first place

2. Why did it choose the picture of the alien


Can anyone help me investigate this further?

changing the background images

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

• Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
• Are you referring to desktop background image or lock screen image?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the background picture and check if it helps.

• In the search type as ‘Settings’ and click on it.
• Select ‘Personalization’, under ‘Background’ option select as ‘Picture’.
• Under ‘Choose your picture’ select any picture accordingly or you can browse the picture from your computer.

Background cannot be changed

Hi,

To change the background on your Windows 10 Mobile, please follow the steps below:

• Open Settings, and tap on Personalization.
• Tap on Start.
• Tap on the drop-down list under Choose a background.
• Select your preferred background and click apply.

How to change the screen background settings in Windows 10

  Type Themes and related settings in search bar. And click on that.
  
• 
  Go to Themes.
  
• 
  Under Windows default Themes select the back ground close the window.
