Windows 10: Windows backup hijacked my folders and deleted my files. Any way to recover?

Clean install of windows 11. After installing programs, and copying my files to their respective folders desktop, doccuments, etc I finally start to configure onedrive.As a separate foldar since not all my pc documents need to be on the cloud. As so, I unchecked the Desktop, Documents and Pictures folder believeing that this would stop onedrive sending them to the could.Since this Onedrive folder was an exact copy of the folder before the new windows install I figured that the sync operation would be near instantaneous.After minutes of syncing I figured something was wrong. I've gone to wind

Software to monitor a folder, backup, then delete?

Is there such a software that will allow the monitoring of a folder to not only backup, but also delete the data? For example, if I was to have a netbook, and it has the built-in card adapter for my camera, I can just copy all the files over to the netbook in a specific folder (ie, ::Temp Pictures), then the next time it connects to the internet/network it will search the folder for any new files, copy them over to my main PC, then delete the Temp Pictures data?

I've been looking into doing this, googling and whatnot, and it seems like there are a LOT of options for monitoring folders for updates, new data, copying, etc, but I haven't quite found one that allows you to delete after copying.

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

I still think its hard to beat using NTI shadow for something like this. Though what you need is to add one more sync folder to your scheme in order for it to delete files, remember it sync/backup, so have your pictures synched to computer is pretty easy, after its on your computer, sync it to another folder that moves the files in the original directory, then when the next sync run, it will see the directory empty and remove the files.
