Windows 10: Windows baked in VPN taskbar icon. does it exist?

is there a special icon that shows on the taskbar when VPN is connected. Currently I have to look at my connections to know if im still connected at any given time. Ideally I would like to know if there is a way to change network icon on the taskbar to tell me when my VPN is connected. Currently, if the VPN disconnects there is no way for the user to know from the taskbar.

Hello,

I'm having a problem that may seem minor to most, but is actually a pretty big deal for me. The taskbar icons (system tray) that show programs that are running in the background do not refresh by themselves. I need to hover my mouse pointer over that section
of the taskbar in order for things to refresh.

For example, I use a VPN to stay secure and private while on the internet. The background program that the VPN uses to connect to the server displays a bright green icon on the right side of the taskbar when I am properly connected. But, sometimes when I let
my computer idle for long periods of time (many hours without use) the VPN will disconnect by itself, I don't know if it does this on purpose or it's a bug with the software (I will probably report it to the service developers as well). However, the small
icon does not change from green (connected) to red (disconnected) when the software is shut down. THIS IS A PROBLEM! In the past, I have gone back to using the internet not knowing that I am no longer tunneling through my VPN server and on an unsecure connection!

And this isn't just with this program. If I use the "End task" feature in the task manager to terminate a program that is running in the background that also has a taskbar icon on the bottom right, it will stay in the taskbar until I use my mouse to hover
over it, then it disappears.

You can always use third party GUI changers to change the icons and desktop.
