Windows 10: Windows become translucent on top of videos

Hello,


Whenever I play a videos in YouTube, VLC, or even in Zoom and then I have a window on top, that window becomes translucent. I don't know what is causing it. Below are screen shots. In the screen shot below I am playing a video and on top of it is a Notepad window. Notice that the notepad window became all white, translucent. I don't experience it when the smaller window is not on top of a video as shown in the next screen shot.


The same issue happens regardless of browser - Edge or Chrome.









Any thoughts on the resolution of this issue is appreciated.

Translucent Photos even when using video

My photo is translucent even when attempting to facetime using my video camera. I have turned transparency off but the photos have not changed. They have a shadowy background.

Problem started after installing window updates.

[Help] Cortana translucent box appears always on top, even in games.

Hi, what is your Windows build? Win key + r, winver
Sadly it's not a forum requiement so we have to keep asking....

Since search and Cortana were separated in build 1903, Cortana is voice activated only. For me it appears like this:




Does this box appear if you do a clean boot? (Google if unsure how or see the relevant tutorial here).
