  1. Windows Bios update and registry

Hello! so, recently, I have tried updating my laptop's bios because the fans do not seem to be working accordingly sometimes. but when I try to update it, this error shows up: error 255 tdk library initialization failed

I think that this means that the registry files are either corrupted or have been changed. the problem is that I think that I was the one who changed them. Because I wanted to control my laptop's power settings, I delved into the registry and changed a few D - word files, and the options popped up. it was only like 5 or 10 things, but the thing is that there are also stuff that I did not change, so I'm not sure what I changed and what I didn't. also, when I ran the windows system repairer, this message came up: windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. for online repairs, details are included in the cbs log file located at windir\logs\cbs\cbs.log. for example c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log. for offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /offlogfile flag.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    :)

    Should I update bios?

I would read the warranty before doing anything. If the manufacturer finds out you did something not on their approved list of steps, for example using a program they didn't list, or a bios, etc, they can treat your video card rma like you threw it against the wall , because if something goes wrong and you didn't follow their steps exactly ,it was damaged through human error and they're not likely going to be obligated to cover it warranty wise. I don't know for sure, I just advocate that you check first , and I also advocate that you verify that it's an actual update ,because very rarely do manufacturers release updates for gpu bios'. And they most certainly wont cover a GPU "update" if its a bios file written by some dude in the Ukraine, it has to be a set process, they have predetermined often.
