Windows 10: windows bitlocker unallocates adjacent bitlocked partition

I have my two ssd's cloned to an external hdd, each with its own partition. When I enable bitlocker on one, it encrypts. When I enable bitlocker on the other one, it encrypts while quietly unallocating and rendering useless the other backup, leaving only unallocated space. While encrypting the first backup, I lost the second. Thinking surely this was not the fault of the bitlocker process, I re-made the partition and re-backup up the second, and in the process the exact same thing happened to the first, I was left with only unallocated space. Can you take a screen shot of the bitlocker window?

Also, what happens when you highlight the drive in This PC and go to the Manage tab? There should be some bitlocker options there.

 

Need to extend C: partition, but unallocated is not adjacent

I have 4 partitions on my C: drive, in order left-to-right (on Disk Management): 579M Recovery Partition, 99.33G Boot, 100M EFI, 50G Unallocated. I want to merge the Boot partition with the Unallocated, but they are not adjacent. I've read several posts on this but I find them confusing. Is this doable? Can someone give me a simple step-by-step?

As you can see Drive D is no longer present in BitLocker Drive Encryption.

When I click on this Drive under Explorer I got the option to FORMAT this Drive and when I click cancel I get the following.

When I do Right Click on this Drive, I no longer see BitLocker option like I used to.
