Windows 10: Windows Black Screen After Interrupted Critical Update

Hello, so I have a black screen after the most recent critical update. I have already tried the commands:


Bootrec /rebuildBCD

Bootrec /fixmbr

Bootrec /fixboot


When I attempt the /fixboot I get a response of "access is denied" and when I tried:


Chkdsk /f


I get a response of "cannot lock current drive. Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume because it is write protected."


I'm looking for further advice or any other solutions? Thanks in advance!

I would suggest you try the power troubleshooter if you are able to boot into the system.

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and click on System and Security.
• Click on Power and follow the onscreen steps.
