    Windows black screen while automatic restart


    Since yesterday I have had the problem that my laptop keeps restarting and it also has a black screen. That happened when I accidentally actually wanted to do a troubleshoot entered the BIOS and left it without saving didn't change anything. After I opened it, I took out the SSD, the RAM and the battery and put them back in again. Nothing changed.

    black screen upon restart

    i just installed drivers for a geforce 210..restarted for it to take effect and all i get on restart is a black screen after windows loads etc but the monitor is on..any idea what to do?

    • Were you able to get to the desktop screen after you restarted the system?
    • When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
    • Did you get any error code or error message?

    Black screen after 'Starting Windows' sequence

    Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

    Try this quoted from "VisiHow" article "Repair Windows 7 Black Screen of Death":

    They, also, have some other options there, too.
    Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.
