Windows 10: Windows Blue Screen Wiped My Computer!

Yesterday I opened my computer and it was running a disk error recovery. When it was done it said it was unable to fix it and I had a blue screen. I tried multiple ways to get it to run windows but none of them worked. I took it to a repair place and they said that all my files and profile were wiped because of this. Is that it? It’s all gone? I think windows was trying to run an update but couldn’t. Why did this happen? Is there no way of getting my files back?

Before we proceed I would like you to answer the following question:

• 
  What is the make and model of your computer?
  
• 
  Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
  

The issue might occur due to Viruses, or something changing/deleting in Registry Files, a failure during Bootup, or a corrupt file which could be due to age of a computer or viruses or somebody tampering with files.
