    Windows Blue Screens CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT Happens Frequently


    Hi, I get a bluescreen with error code CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT very frequently, often multiple times a day. I've had this since I first got my laptop, and it's been many months now. It's usually when I'm in the middle of working, not immediately after booting my PC. I've had windows up to date, and updated it multiple times since these problems began occurring. My laptop is usually plugged in, with very few programs open, and it's got plenty of space. It typically overheats, however even when plugged into a cooling pad with fan running this will occur.     Whenever I get this bluescreen, it NEVER goes beyond 0%, and after many, many minutes 10-100, I am forced to simply hold the power button, as I have no other choice. My laptop is completely unusable when this happens, which is frequently, and it's frustrating that a brand new $800 laptop would be this terrible. I've tried contacting Dell customer support for dozens of hours, and every time they refuse to help me, and state that it's not covered under warranty. I now know to never buy from Dell again, however I'm hoping Microsoft support is better. Thank you in advance.

    CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT

    I was opening Fox fire when my screen and it went blue with clock watchdog timeout error. I can not shut down computer or do anything. It has been stuck on error screen for a hour. Help.

    We just want to verify, have you already tried performing the troubleshooting steps provided by
    ZigZag3143 in this thread? If you still haven't, you may
    give that a try. Note that running the two steps will verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
