Windows 10: Windows breaks display drivers after update from 1803 to 1903

So after Windows forced me to update it to the new functional update, my display drivers broke and I wasn't able to see anything beyond the motherboard launch process/boot loader. The computer was working completely fine, since I was able to type my password to log-in, press the windows key, launch spotify and play music with the space bar. After booting into safe mode, Windows device manager confirmed what I thought: A yellow warning triangle next to my monitor indicated a driver issue. I removed the newest Windows functional update over the Troubleshooting menu since my GPU (RX Vega 64) was being fried since no fan profile was selected.

How can I

a) Stop windows from tampering with my working display drivers

b) Reinstall the display drivers after the update in safe mode?

I have a folder with the drivers for my monitor (BenQ GW2765) since I encountered a similar driver problem after an update half a year ago already. In this folder, there's a .cat, .icm and .inf file. I tried to reinstall the drivers in safe mode by selecting my monitor in the device monitor, viewing its properties, then navigating to the drivers tab, selecting 'update drivers' and then selecting that folder for manual driver installation, but it claimed the best drivers were already installed.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Win 10 1803 to 1903 update

My Desktop computer running Win 10 updated from version 1803 to 1903 a while back, but my Desktop running Win 10 version 1803

I'm assuming the update 1803 to 1903 has now resumed after the earlier problems caused a suspension?

Any thoughts, suggestions?

 

Display driver not supporting and device manager not showing Display adapter option

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

• Incorrect settings.
• Corrupt or outdated display driver.

Try the steps listed here and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to download and install all the available Windows Updates including Optional Updates. Check if it helps.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, i suggest you to uninstall and re-install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Step 1: Uninstall display driver.

• Right-click on the Start Button and click on
  Device manager.
• Double-click on Display Adapters to expand.
• Right-click on the display adapter driver that is listed and select properties.
• In the window opened, click on drivers tab.
• In the drivers tab, Click on Uninstall option.

Now restart your computer and check, if the problem persists try step 2.

Step 2:

Re-install display driver from the manufacturer website.
