Windows 10: $windows.-BT folder- stuck at 140Mb

Discus and support $windows.-BT folder- stuck at 140Mb in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; my $windows.-BT folder is still 140Mb for last one month.     $windows.-BT folder- stuck at 140Mb


    my $windows.-BT folder is still 140Mb for last one month. Folder has been used on 1st August previously and its not progressing.

    Is there any tool to start the download again.

    Should I keep re-downloading the Win 10 upgrade?

    Should the $Windows.~BT file remains at 140MB, the update is at 26%?

    window 10 download stopped

    $Windows.~BT properties shows only 140mb of data has been downloaded and it's not moving any further.

    Hello and welcome to the forum! *Smile

    You can use the Disk Cleanup utility to clean up the system files. There is an option to remove files from a Windows Upgrade; this should also remove that folder.

    You can start the download of the Windows 10 files using the Media Creation Tool.

    After you have finished that process, it is important that when you start the Windows Upgrade you do that from inside your running Windows version. Just being in Windows and then executing the according setup file. The Media Creation Tool will also allow you to create a bootable USB stick or so and you could then theoretically boot from it to start the upgrade, meaning from outside of your current Windows installation. This is what you should not do.
