  1. Windows Builder 10 is making smooth stl surfaces rough?

So I do a lot of 3d design and have relied on Windows Builder for years- but recently when I run a program through Windows Builder it takes perfectly smooth surfaces of the stl and roughs them up with pocks and jags- what gives?

    :)

  2. Is there any way/hack to make STL the default file type for Open and Save As in 3D Builder?

    Hey gdeconto,

I'm a 3D Builder engineer. I'm sorry to say that there is not a way to (or hack) to make STL the default file type. It is a great suggestion though.

Please open the Feedback App and under the feedback tab (in the 'Apps and Games' Category, '3D Builder' subcategory) open a suggestion feedback with this request. Leaving it there will let other people see the feedback and upvote it. If we see the suggestion
get some traction with users upvotes we will add it to our todo list.

    Thanks!

3D Builder slight distortion when saving .STL files

    Hello,

To better assist you with the issue, please provide the following information:

    • Have you tried to load and edit other file formats?
    • Have you tried to load and edit other images not created in Align Technologies OrthoCAD?

We're looking forward to your reply.

3D Builder slight distortion when saving .STL files

A model that is edited with 3D builder is being slightly distorted in size when saved as a .STL file. The model is a dental model created using Align Technologies OrthoCAD as a .STL file. When the model is loaded and edited in 3D Builder then saved as
a .STL file the dimensions of the model are increased slightly by 1-2%. This causes the orthodontic appliance created on the model to not fit. This size discrepancy is confirmed using other 3D model software.
