Windows 10: Windows button suddenly not working/Scancode Map file missing

One day both of my windows buttons stopped working both left and right No other key is malfunctioning. None of the commands Win + shift + s, Win + V, ect are working. I recently went into Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout to delete my SCANCODE MAP file, just to find that there is no SCANCODE_MAP file. I never deleted it. Nor even new about this file til now

Hi, try this in Safe Mode. It works for me, but this should let you see if there's any utility or 3rd party tool affecting this.

Otherwise something may have changed a registry key. The scancode map defines key functions. E.g.

Windows MAPS not working


Suddenly Maps doesn't work. When I open the program I see a light blue screen with a dot indicating my home location, and nothing else.
I have tried everything that has been suggested:
Ensuring that my location is turned on.
Maps is checked ON to use my precise location.

I deleted the app using Powershell, rebooted and installed Maps from the Windows store.
Still the same problem persists.

When Maps worked I found it to be a very useful program and I would very much like to solve whatever problem Maps has.
