  1. Windows cannot access specific file types jpg/bat/vbs

    Hi... would appreciate any help here:After performing a rollback to a recent restore point, I am unable to open or edit certain file types jpegs, bat or vbs files, but I can copy or delete them. I also can't open Paint, Paint3D, or screen grab tools there is no error, but presumably it relates to trying to open jpegs. Other file types, like excel, word, pdf, csv's, etc. all seem to work as expected. The problem is specific to the file type. PDFs in a folder will open fine, but jpgs in that same folder will not. The error message is "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or fil

    BAT File That Deletes Files Below Specific Size

    I am wondering how to make a bat file that can delete all files below a certain size (in this case 10kb). I have a folder on my server that has game screenshots in it (taken by Punkbuster) and need to sort out the good shots from the bad, and figure this is easier than manually deleting thousands of files.. The "bad" shots (blanks with failed renders) range in size from 4kb-8kb, so the bat file can delete anything lower than 10kb with no issues. Is this possible, and if so how do I make one? Thanks for your help.

    *EDIT*
    I have found a bat file that can delete specific types/sizes, but it only allows you to delete file sizes of 0kb (empty text documents and such), and replacing the "0" with "10" or any other number hasn't worked for me so far.

    Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

    I want to be able to generate a .txt file that lists all the files and folders in a specific folder on my PC, but don't know the name of any programs that do that. Searched on google a bit and came up with this guide, but it's for XP and I can't seem to find some of the folder options to modify the .bat file. Any suggestions? Thanks

    http://www.theeldergeek.com/file_list_generator.htm

    EDIT: The .bat file will do what I want if it is in the folder I want to do it in, but the option I want to add is having the right click option that it shows.

    How do I get Cortana Search to work with CMD/BAT/VBS/PS1 files?

    This is utterly infuriating to me. For some odd reason (I can only assume its security related) *none* of my scripts ever show up in Cortana searches. In build 1511 of Windows 10 I was able to work around this by creating a link in my task-bar with the following
    Target settings:

    %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\rundll32.exe -sta {C90FB8CA-3295-4462-A721-2935E83694BA}

    This older search (that would slide out as a pane from the right hand side when invoked and appeared to be left over from Windows 8) would list my script files when I searched on them by name. However it now seems this feature was removed in the 1607 build
    of Windows 10. The crazy thing is I can go into the Indexing Options in Control Panel and see plain as day that indexing is enabled for CMD/BAT/VBS/PS1 files but they flat refuse to show up in any searches. This is crazy annoying to me as I have a number of
    scripts that I use throughout the day that I like to call on quickly to automate repetitive tasks.

    Does anyone know of a way to make Cortana Search actually list CMD/BAT/VBS/PS1 files in search results?
