    I have a windows 11 laptop I just purchased called JACKIE. I have a network at home with two windows 7 PCs. One WIN 7 PC has a printer and external backup drive attached to it called STEVE. The 2nd WIN 7 PC is called MIKE. STEVE and MIKE have always been able to share files with each other. MIKE has always been able to print and access the external drive as long as STEVE is powered on.When I first tried to connect JACKIE to the other WIN 7 PCs, I could see STEVE and MIKE when looking at NETWORK on JACKIE. I could not see JACKIE from STEVE or MIKE when selecting NETWORK on both STEVE

    cannot access file/or permissions

    I have a file i need to run on Windows 7 Home Premium. I get the error message saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

    So I right click and choose Properties to access the permissions but I cannot. In the Security tab I get a message saying, " You do not have permission to view or edit this objects permission settings.".

    Next I boot into the Windows 7 Hidden Administrator Mode - and even with this I get all the same error messages.

    Please help me as I really need to run This file.

    I've gone in a HUGE circle trying to resolve this issue "You do not have permission to access \\PC_NAME contact your network administrator to request access" and so far zero success. I found another post about the same subject at "Redirecting and tried the suggested solution (several times to ensure I did not miss a step) which did not work for me.

    I have two PCs (Shelia-PC and Taylor-PC) in a local wired network, both are in the WORKGROUP, both are running Windows 10 and both have the latest updates.

    I'm attempting to share a drive on the Shlia-PC, permission was set to full access for everyone.
