Windows 10: Windows cannot find MicrosoftSercurityApp error message on start up; Is this a virus?

I can't add the screenshot image directly but this is the error message I'm getting. I've been running a couple virus scans and other 3rd party malware/cleanup software like Spybot and CCleaner, but nothing is coming up.What should I do?

Windows Update Error Message 0x80070543


Ya Ya Ya, there's over a hundred threads like this, ...

Anyway, started getting this error message a few days ago, and done a lot of searching on this error message, apparently it's not, uncommon.

In particular, the (currently) 4 updates that are being affected are:

• Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3173428) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3172729) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3174060) - Error 0x80070543
• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3176493) - Error 0x80070543

The actions I've taken to date are:

1. Uninstalled firewall program (comodo)
2. Uninstalled anti-virus (Avast)
3. Reset the windows update catalog on local machine.

So the above errors are with the above done.

What other steps should I be taking to resolve the issue?

I could be wrong. I use bitdeffender and I'm sure they have a way to scan the computer with out physically booting into windows I sometimes also use malwarebytes and I'm sure they have that type of way to. I highly suggest trying both even if just save mode.

Their is another way.

Take out his haRd drive plug it into yours as external and If you can then have the drive show on your pc. Scan that drive with yours then boom! ! Bye bye virus!

 

Virus/Windows error

I agree I'm in over my head, but I'm gonna keep trying till ive exhausted all my options

Well I seem to have made one step in the right direction," windows ran into a problem and needs to restart. you should close this message now and save your work" is now longer showing up so I'm able to boot the computer regularly. I also was unable to install an older....much older version of Malwarebytes and manually update it. so ive made a little bit a progress after work.
