  1. Windows can't find filename.exe when I boot my computer

I get the error "windows cannot find 'C:\Users\LENOVO\AppData\Local\Temp\subfolder\filename.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again" whenever I boot my computer. I tried finding the path but noticed there isn't a folder called subfolder in the Temp directory. Is my computer infected or what?NOTE: I already tried the suggestion given by DaveM121

    Hi Samid,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

Before we proceed, we would require more information to assist you further.

    • What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you check if you are able to boot into Windows Recovery Environment using installation media. Follow the steps provided below and check.

      • Insert the installation USB and boot Windows 10 from it.
      • In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
      • Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
Check if you are able to boot to this window. If you are unable to boot to this window, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer and check.

Hope this information is helpful. Reply us with this information to assist you further.

    Thank you.

  4. Windows can't find filename.exe when I boot my computer

"Boot Filename" Msg from boot process

    <<<

    • Are you able to sign in to your computer after the Intel boot agent appeared?
    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
    >>>

    1) Sign in and functioning were normal after the announcement that the boot agent was exiting

    2) The PC is an HP model DC7700. It's 32 bit

    3) I made no changes I'm aware of, other than installing Win10; I've also installed Emsisoft security software and a number of freeware apps. None of these appear to have had any strange effects. The odd message about "boot agent" and "boot filename"
(not to mention the MAC address) came out of the blue.
