Windows can't recognize my headset in playback and recording tab

    Hello

I've posted a thread recentlly about this, but had no anwers
Recently i've bought HyperX Cloud Stinger, and one week ago i've bought Asus TUF Gaming A15Windows 10 64bits laptop.

The headset only has jack 3.5mm cable. However has an extension with both speaker and mic cable, but my laptop does not have that interface.

When i connect my headset to the 3.5mm audio interface, realtek seems to not recognize headset in playback and recording devices, however i can hear very well the sounds trough the headset speaker.

Here's realtek playback and recording tabs with my headset on:

    My drivers are these:

Would a USB audio adapter solve my issue?

    :)

  2. Change Playback Device For Recording As Headset.

    Hi Gavenjo,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

If you want your voice to be captured from the headset and not your computer speakers, then you can change the Playback device in Sound Settings.

Before performing the below steps, make sure the headset is plugged into the computer.

Step 1: Right-click on the Sound icon from the
    Taskbar and click on Sounds.

Step 2: Go to Recording tab > Right-click on empty space in
Recording tab > Click on Show Disabled Devices.

Step 3: Then, click on your headset and click on
Set Default > Apply > OK.

Give it a shot and let us know of any changes.

If my answer has helped, then please upvote or mark as an answer.

  3. Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.

Audio playback through USB headset and Speakers

    Hi Max,

Your USB headset and your speaker need to be configured properly in order for you to use them at the same time. To do that, please follow the steps below:

    • In the taskbar, right-click the Sound icon and click Sounds.
    • Under the Playback tab, do a right-click on your speaker and click
      Set as Default Device
      .
    • Click Apply, then OK.
    • Open the Sound window again.
    • Under the Playback tab, do a right-click on your headset and click
      Set as Default Communication Device
      .
    • Move to the Recording tab.
    • Right-click Microphone and click Properties.
    • Click the Listen tab and check the box for Listen to this device.
    • Under Playback through this device, select your headset from the list.
    • Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, please check if both devices are working at the same time.

    Let us know the result.

    Regards.
