Windows 10: Windows can't repair my external HDD. Can someone please help me understand this?

I encountered a problem with my external HDD and I noticed it when I'm trying to take some files out of it. The drive would disconnect mid-transfer and from there it got worse. Even when I'm not doing anything, it gets disconnected. I am trying to retrieve the files from the HDD. I'll paste the repair log here for reference.Chkdsk was executed in read/write mode. External HDDs

Hi i had a seagate freeagent (external) which stopped working so i bought another enclosure and the hdd kept disconnecting/reconnecting in windows 8.1, so i boht another enclosure and also the same thing. Iv tried a different hdd and all hdds work perfectly when plugged directly into sata ports on the board, are there any other steps i can try or do you think iv just been unlucky with enclosures?

• Which driver did you uninstall? Have you reinstall the driver? If yes, how did you reinstall the driver?
• Have you check if the external HDD is visible in Device Manager?

I suggest you to try changing the drive letter of the drive and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to change the drive letter:
