Windows 10: Windows can't see all logical processors after turning HT off/on

I turned Hyperthreading off in the BIOS, to test whether I got more frames in a game.

I didn't really, so I turned it back on - but now windows will only see 6 cores / 6 threads, instead of 6 cores / 12 threads (as it didn't previous to my turning HT off in the BIOS).

I have tried resetting BIOS, setting everything up again, several times now, without any result.

Is there some magical reg value or something, windows that will make it see that the CPU has Hyperthreading?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

will Windows 10 ever support 4 cores, 8 logical processors?

I am running Windows 7 on a 64 bit 4 core, 8 logical processor computer. I would like to go to Windows 10, but it is limited to 2 cores, 4 logicals. Does microsoft have any intention of advancing Windows 10 to 64 bit 4 cores 8 logical processors?

 

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.
