Windows 10: Windows changes size of browser window after exiting a fullscreen video

I'm not sure what subject to post this under but every time i exit a fullscreen video or really anything that goes fullscreen in a browser my window will go from filling the whole screen to windowed. Every time it changes to the same size window, even if i'm already in windowed mode. It's been going on for about a year now and it's super annoying as it makes me hit the x button instead of minimizing, ect. And I'm almost positive it's a windows problem, as it happens in both chrome, and firefox. And i've seen the problem with snapping, i dont think it's that, it changes to the same size every time no matter if snapped or not, even if snapping is disabled. I appreciate any help anyone can give me, I'm desperate at this point

Fullscreen video causes windows to resize

Whenever I fullscreen a video in any browser and exit out of it I notice that the browser window is now resized to be slightly bigger. The video below is a perfect example of the issue I am seeing. Currently running Windows 10 Pro 1809.

 

Browser Window Size

To all my fellow firefox afficianados, I need help. The problem I'm having seems to be quite simple yet it's really annoying. Every time I start up firefox, the browser window is only half my screen size. I have to manually maximize the window's size every single time I go on. How can I force the Firefox window to be at max or at least cover my screen every single time? As a side note, does anyone here use the program winpatrol? If so, how do you stop the program from telling you to delete your cookies every five seconds?

 

Chrome, Snap, 1809 and fullscreen video

I don't know how common this is, but i found a solution to a problem at least some people were having. (Primarily a couple of reports on the Chrome Subreddit, one of which i have answered with the solution)

I thought it might be useful to put the solution here too as a reference for anybody else facing the same issue.

Only affects (as far as i know):

Windows 10 1809, Chromium based Browsers and Windows (Aero) Snap.

The Issue:

'Snap' Browser window to display edge. Go to Youtube etc, and play a video. Go fullscreen. Exit fullscreen. Your Browser window 'grows' in size. Continue to enter and exit fullscreen and the windows grows larger each time. The side that was 'Snapped' to the edge disappears off the display.

The solution:

Turn off Windows Snap (Settings/System/Multitasking) and install AquaSnap. It has a free version which does everything needed here. Under Snap Method select Aquasnap Advanced. Now you have replaced the Windows Snap functionality with something that doesn't break your Chrome Browser!

Bonus: Also Hotkeys for docking windows and 'Magnet' effect.
