Windows 10: Windows Clipboard is broken since updating to 24H2

Clipboard history not working after windows update

clipboard history not working after windows update, in some thread I notices that need to check internal windows Clipboard service, but there is not in the windows services list. Clipboard is broken/not functional in UWP apps

For about a year now, my clipboard has been broken for UWP apps (regular apps work fine). They used to work, I don't remember what changes I might have made to my system around the time it stopped working. Possibly a windows update.

In most UWP apps, it simply doesn't work. The clipboard doesn't get updated on attempting to copy (previous copies from non-UWP apps can still be pasted in other non UWP-apps), and nothing gets inserted on trying to paste.

There are sometimes odd behaviors in other apps, like calculator will crash if I hit CTRL+C.

I don't know what the reason is, I've tried a lot of things to fix it:

• I've tried updating windows a number of times. No change.
  
• I've updated affected apps
  
• I've run "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth", it didn't fix anything.
  
• I've run "sfc /scannow", didn't find anything wrong
  
• I tried enabling the "cbdhsvc" (aka Clipboard User Service) service. On trying to start from task manager, nothing happens. From command line (net start cbdhsvc), i get the following error: "System error 1058 has occurred. The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
  
• I tried turning on Clipboard history. After toggling on, I leave the clipboard settings page, and go back to it, it is unchecked. Pressing WIN + V doesn't do anything.

I have the latest updates for my system (as of 4th of November 2023)
Edition Windows 10 Pro (I'm not upgrading to 11)
