Windows 10: Windows Clock Loses Sync After Laptop Being Off

As the title says.My laptop has been set to auto sync the time for my time zone and my country/region is set correctly. I have to manually click "Sync Now" whenever my Windows 11 Pro laptop boots up from a cold boot.The time.windows.com server wouldn't sync at all, so I changed it to time.nist.gov and that at least works for manual syncing. This may seem petty, but it's so simple I can't believe I'm the only person running into this every time I boot up. 5800 clock losing time

Has anybody found out how to stop the clock from losing time? I have tried everything that the Nokia help desk has suggested and can't afford to have the phone in at Nokia Care.

Clock constantly loses time, correct in bios


I have a windows 10 tablet and the clock is constantly losing time by significant amounts. Just a few minutes after starting the clock slows by as much as 10min and eventually gets to several hours slow.

Yes, the time and timezone are set correctly in settings.

Yes, it is set up to sync with time.nist.gov

The really puzzling thing is that the bios/uefi clock is correct and stays correct. So in my limited knowledge it seems the problem must be with windows.

Any ideas how to fix this?

An outdated system setting is possibly causing the system clock to desynchronize. That being said, I suggest synchronizing your system clock with an Internet server. Make sure that you're signed in as the administrator before performing the steps below.

1. Click the Start button and type Command
   Prompt.
2. Right-click Command Prompt and then select
   Run as administrator.
3. If prompted, choose Yes or enter the administrator password.
4. Type the command below and then press Enter after each command.
   • net start w32time
   • w32tm /resync
5. Close Command Prompt and restart your PC.
