    Windows Color Management

I am having trouble with windows color management. I am trying to calibrate my printer using Argyll CMS and the end result is slightly off...

I already asked this from dpreview so here is the link to detailed explanatio with images:

    https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/62727691

To summarize, I am using `cctiff` to apply srgb->custom printer profile conversion.

    * If I print the resulting image WITHOUT color management then the image is as I expect it to be.

    * If I upload the custom printer profile to windows color management and select is default. Then print letting ICM do the task itself, then the printout is different.

The weird thing is that I enabled print preview in Epson driver and the preview image is exactly same as the `cctiff` converted image. But when it is printed it looks different. I think print-preview of Epson shows the final data to be sent to printer so I do not quite understand why the end result is different when I let windows manage ICM.

    Any ideas?

    :)

  2. Color Management Windows 10

    Hi Kendall,

For us to isolate your concern with Color Management, we would like to know the following:

    • Are you using an administrator access?
    • Have you tried creating a new user profile to replicate the issue?
    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Send us a screenshot of the Advanced tab in Color Management.

For more information, the best way to get the color profile you need is to visit your monitor manufacturer's support website and download the latest driver for the device.

We look forward to your response.

    Windows Color Management Issue

    Hi billin30,

With the issue you're having with your display color, I suggest that you calibrate. There may have been settings that is causing the issue and resetting them may solve this. Follow these steps:

    1. Press Windows key on your keyboard, type Calibrate display color.
    2. Follow the on screen instructions.
If the issue will not somehow improve, try to check with your monitor's color settings just to be sure.

Also, I'd like to clarify what monitor is having the issue with its display going to the 'other monitor'? I'd also like to ask for help in isolating the issue. Try to use the monitors one-by-one or have them pair up with one another. Like have BenQ paired
with Asus then have Alienware paired with Asus etc.

Update me if there were improvements.

    Windows 10 Screen Flashing/inverting colors

    Hi,

Since troubleshooting steps were provided, what I can suggest is for you to try to configure the settings on your monitor's color management. Kindly follow the steps provided below:

    • Open Color Management by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type color management, and then click Color
      Management
      .
    • Click the Advanced tab, and click Change system defaults.
    • Click the Advanced tab in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box, and do one of the following:

      - To prevent Windows from loading display calibrations, clear the Use Windows display calibration check box.
    • Click Close in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box.
    • Click Close in the Color Management dialog box.
You can also refer to this link for screen flickering troubleshooting.

Let us know how it goes.
