  1. Windows Computer Makes Controls Hover if Pen is Active

I've had this problem for a few days. If I click a control on my keyboard and any pen that I normally use for my computer is hovering/active on the computer (the Lenovo YOGA 730-13IKB), the control hovers in midair and follows the cursor on the screen. For example, if I was using my pen and it was hovering over the touchscreen, and I hit Ctrl, it would show Ctrl on the screen and then it disappears if I let go of the command. I use Wacom Intuos Pro and Lenovo Active Pen 2, which was DESIGNED for computers like it, and it's happened on both pen devices. It's very irritating as it messes with the way I draw.

I've looked up how to fix it to no avail, and I can't find anything about it on Google or in support places. I've tried going to pen settings but there is no way to fix it. I have restarted multiple times, updated my computer and pens, shut down, etc. and it does not go away.

    :)

  2. Trouble with Hover function

    Hi Gwendolyn,

The option to activate a window by hovering it with the mouse may not be enabled, and this could be a possible cause why you are experiencing an issue with using the hover function of your mouse.

Follow these steps to enable the Activate a window by hovering it with the mouse option:

    • Using Cortana, type ease of access.
    • On the search results, click on Ease of Access Center.
    • Choose Make the mouse easier to use.
    • Under Make it easier to manage windows, tick on the checkbox beside Activate a window by hovering it with the mouse.
    • Click Apply and then click OK.
    • Restart your computer.

Let us know if further assistance is needed.

  3. Taskbar bug: switching to another window -will not appear at the front

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

    1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
    2. Select or click Ease of Access.
    3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
    4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
    5. Check if issue is resolved.
    Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

Windows Computer Makes Controls Hover if Pen is Active

Windows 10, TaskBar not blocked for touch when hovering with active pen over screen

    Hi,

I have recently upgraded from Window 8.1 to Windows 10 on my ASUS Vivotab Note 8 (a 8 inch tablet with Wacom active pen).

Windows 10 has very annoying feature that prevents smooth working with Desktop version of Microsoft OneNote.

When active pen is hovering over screen (but not touching it) and moving cursor, task bar is not blocked for touch with fingers.

So when I write with my pen on a screen and I move the pen up (eg. to make a space between two words) but still keep my wrist on a screen - task bar appears and sometimes it runs calendar or some other program from TaskBar.

In Windows 8 it worked. Whole screen was blocked for finger touch if active pen was detected (even hovering - but not touching a screen)

Is there any solution for this - or I just should go back to Windows 8?

    regards

    J.
