  1. Windows constantly tries to check hdd at boot

Hello, I'm writing this post because I'm going crazy at this point. Windows 10 constantly tries to perform chkdsk at boot, and it is unskippable. When it does, it reboots and attempts to perform automatic repair, which also fails. I tried the registry fix for stopping chkdsk, but it didn't work. Same with /x chkntfs. When I try to perform chkdsk on this drive from another Windows, it just unmounts itself and mounts back again, making it impossible to complete. I was wondering if it was an issue with the HDD but SMART shows it's good. I performed tests with Seagate software (it's a Seagate hdd) and it passed them. When I checked for bad sectors just a week ago it also didnt show any. I have also changed the cables and switched sockets, to no avail. Windows on the other drive seems to function normally, so I'm not sure it has anything to do with PSU. Is this an issue with Windows, or really some kind of hardware failure? Any insight is appreciated.

How to go about building a tri-boot system?

i dual boot all the time, and going in to tri boot is easy.

step 1) partition the drive in to 3 partitions ( leaving 1 empty for the linux installer. )
step 2) install windows on the first 2 partitions.
step 3) install linux, and let it auto partition the remaining space. ( i recommend at least 30gb of space for linux, because it will make things a lot easier. )

    step 4) enjoy.

Yeah, but he's throwing OS X in there. Not quite as easy to do, but not all that hard. Manual configuration of GRUB is necessary.
