Windows 10: Windows copilot button removed after update KB5037771 gets installed

Hi all,we have a fleet of windows 11 pro/ent 23h2. I use windows copilot a lot, but when KB5037771 was installed the copilot button is removed from the taskbar.we are aware that its still in preview but it is available in our region UK. even the show copilot button registry value below does not have any affect:HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\ if its is enabled, the button does actually appear, but when you click on it, it just opens up a default web browser instead of the copilot windows side panel.i have only done a test on my profile but on one physical

Why isn’t copilot button working

I've tried everything you suggested but the Copilot button is still not responding. This issue started to occur after I installed the update Build 23601 and opened and closed the copilot pane a few times. (After installing the update Copilot is working but after using copilot a few times it stopped opening.) Also, there is no Copilot task in the task manager, just a "Microsoft Edge Copilot pane renderer." I closed that task, and after clicking on the Copilot button again, the task does not reappear.

Please post screenshots of every step of merging the reg file as per Add or Remove Copilot Button on Taskbar in Windows 10 Option 2, step 3. Do you have UAC turned off, perhaps? Are you running as admin or as a standard user? Please also post a screenshot of the relevant registry key and value before and after attempting to merge the reg file. Of course, you could also edit the registry directly if for some reason merging doesn't set the value correctly.
