    Windows corrupted after a restore attempt


    Dear Windows experts.


    i have an HP touch screen with windows 10 installed using it for POS point of sale program in supermarket. The POS program stopped working after a windows update so i tried to restore Windows and selected a 13 days back restore point labeed as windows update 08.08.2020, the restore started normally but it took more than 2 hours and 30 minutes then got a black screen as the pc shutdown. I started the pc but started looping in repair mode everytime i start it. Tried restoring from inside but no success, repair didnt work, booted from a bootable media but repair again failed. I really dont want to lose the installed programs because they costed money.

    i tried installing Windows again from a bootable media but i could not select a drive complaining that “the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks”!!

    Please help I’m desperate.

    Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

    That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

    I suggest Option 1 is easier.

    If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

    Windows XP PRO error after restore

    System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.

    Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


    In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
    I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

    4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
    5. Boot up with your new HD.
