Windows 10: Windows crashed and now won't show all the folders in This PC and is requiring a security...

I have an MSI GS75 Stealth Laptop with Windows 11 Professional all updates installed, 32GB of memory and an Intel i9 processor. Windows crashed and I had to let the battery run down to be able to reboot. When I did, it required me to enter my Bitlocker key to open Windows. When I got into Windows, File Explorer does not show all the folders it previously did- it only shows the desktop and the 4 mapped drives for my NAS devices. Windows folder security.

Is there a way to disable ALL windows security on folders? I'm using Windows 7 and trying to replace some system files that may be currupt and I get the "You need permission..." bitching from Windows. I know I can take ownership of the folder through the security tab but it's getting REALLY old having to do this for each and every file and folder I'm trying to overwrite. *Bang Head :banghead:

I'm the administrator for christ sake. If I want to open my drive and take a crap in it, do I need permission from Microsoft?

 

Windows 10 won´t start any program as Administrator

Hello. I´m having this issue since installed one of the latest Windows 10 system updates.

When I try to open any program that requires Administrator confirmation (that screen with the Yes/No question), this dialog won´t appear anymore. The screen background stays darkened and nothing happens.

1. Using Windows 10 Home (x64)
2. My microsoft user account is properly checked
3. I´m the administrator of the PC
4. Already tried do create another administrator user account - same problem, no success
5. Cannot start any program/service that requires administrator authorization (not even regedit)

Please help!

 

Folder won"t go away


I have a no longer used folder than I cannot delete. I have tried various third party apps to no avain. Any ideas how I can send this folder to "Never Never Land"
