    Hi,New install of window 10 after motherboard upgrade.after perhaps 5 or 6 hours no exact pattern my PC crashes.If it sits idle for 3 or 4 hours it is fine which seems V.strange to me, never a problem so would have thought anything that was going to sleep or crash would have done so in this time but it is longer idle times that cause problems.Sort of working, I can often run some programs from desktop & 80% OK but taskbar often completely gone or many taskbar icons blank.95% of time the start button hidden & inactive, have found a few times using the windows key I can bring up the me

    System idle process spike

    Although you may have a problem that is causing fps drops, "System Idle Process" isn't what's causing it.

    When "CPU usage" for System Idle Process is high, that means that your CPU is not doing much useful work.

    Idle, noun:

    • not working or active; unemployed; doing nothing: idle workers.
    • not spent or filled with activity: idle hours.
    When System Idle Process shows as 30%, what's taking up the majority of the rest of the CPU cycles? That's probably the source of the problem.
