Windows 10: Windows crashes on Shutdown and Restarts

Discus and support Windows crashes on Shutdown and Restarts in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; My Windows based PC crashes during shutdown and reboots everytime.     Windows crashes on Shutdown and Restarts


    My Windows based PC crashes during shutdown and reboots everytime. Please guide me on how to use the EventViewer, and how infer the cause of the issue from it?Also, do I have to view minidump files? I don't know what they are. Could someone please throw some light on it?Thanks in advance.

    hsx_cnxt.sys shutdown/restart crash

    Work around

    I have not used this device in many years and don't need it. My work around:

    • win key +x
    • click device manager
    • expand modems
    • Highlight the Conexant device then right click
    • Click Disable
    • Close device manager
    • Check if shutown/hibernate /sleep/restart crashes
    • easiest way: use shutdown and it should not reboot
    • if it continues to crash and reboot, do a c:/windows/mindump/(select latest file) analysis using OSR Homepage - OSR (run browser in admin mode or dump file is not accessible)

    Windows crashes on Shutdown and Restarts

    windows xp sp2 will not shutdown or restart

    i guess nobody has had this problem or knows what to do lol. crap i'm screwed, just reinstalled windows and not only does it hang during shutdown from desktop, it hangs during the restarts while it's installing windows. somebody please help me
