Discus and support windows creators update slow startup in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; I updated my Dell Precision 7710 to Windows Creators Update. It was done through windows update.     I updated my Dell Precision 7710 to Windows Creators Update. It was done through windows update. Startup is very slow. It probably takes two minutes or more from when the spinning dots show up before it gets to the windows screen to type in my password. Before it was much faster. I never timed it, but probably 20 to 30 seconds at most.

    I searched the forum and web and cannot find anything. Any ideas?

    My system has a Samsung 960 Pro NVMe drive.

    I did run SFC /scannow and it found not issues.

    Slow startup of windows after upgrading Fall creator update

    After upgrading the creator update my pc startup is very slow as compared to previous version of windows 10. currently I am using version 1709. How to solve this issue..

    About Windows 10 creator update

    I have updated my Windows 10 to Creator update. Since then my pc has slow down considerably. WiFi disconnects automatically. Startup is also take few minutes longer than usual. Does anybody have an answer?

    Thanks for the reply. I previously searched the forum and found the same items. They did not help.

    This happens on restart or from a cold boot. Also, I have the fast startup disabled under power settings.

    Ok, well done for searching before posting. I'll leave this for someone who has the CU- I'm staying with the AU until 1 utility is updated and the first major MS patch.

    I had some blue screens related to the intel wifi driver. All of a sudden, every time it tried to connect to wifi, I got a blue screen. At first I disabled wifi in bios. I could boot fine (don't recall the boot speed). I then turned wifi back on in the bios, but I made sure I had my access points turned off so it could not connect to wifi. I was able to update the driver from intel's site and now the machine boots faster. Still not as quick as before the Creators update, but quicker. I guess the driver was hanging the startup.

    You may well get different drivers installed with the upgrade- it depends on the driver map MS is using.
    Analysing a slow boot is quite technical (I've read about it, never had to do it) and needs the right tools. Otherwise it's a process of insight, elimination and some luck.

    Also it's clear some program conflicts are creating in upgrading from the AU.

    The delay experienced at this boot phase can be related to the drivers that need to be updated...I've experienced the same issue on may HP 16 Gb RAM and SSD disk and the problem was dur to the use of Hyper-v. after disabling it Windows starts up quickly.I've used Windows Performance Toolkit to figure out the problem. it's free and very efficient for someone with technical profil ...
