    Windows Cumulative Update seems to break certain functions of operating system


    Hi-I'm running Windows 11 on my computer. I have an issue, though. Windows cumulative updates seem to always break something on my computer! I install regular updates normally, but whenever I choose to download & install a cumulative update, it seems to mess up my operating system. I installed a cumulative update just recently, and all search function, including File Explorer and the Search menu, are broken. I uninstalled the latest quality update using the Advanced Startup menu, but my search function is still broken. I've encoutered various other problems with this in the past, going as

    Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

    Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

    V 10.0 build 10240

    The error message does not have a number. It just says my operating system is not configured to carryout the functions of a certain app. I don't know what app they are talking about, because it does not say. The message pops up a lot. What should I do. I
    run Windows 10.

    Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

    Maybe try with the Windows update mini-tool, found here http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...dows-10-automatic-updates-and-spyware.218745/ , thanks to Mussels. it installed perfectly for me last night.
