Windows 10: Windows Deactivated After Motherboard ChangeSOLVED

UPDATE: After trying the steps several people mentioned, eventually it worked.

The method that worked was as follows:

1 Opened an administrator command prompt

2 Entered in the following minus quotes "slmgr -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-25 digit product key-XXXXX-XXXXX" ENTER

3 Windows search "Activate Settings"

4 Clicked "troubleshoot"

5 Clicked "I recently changed hardware"

6 Windows then showed me a list of devices associated with my MS login credentials.

7 I selected the device that matched the machine I needed to activate.

8 That's it...

I replaced a B350 MB with an X470. The boot drive is the same, CPU is the same, ram is the same, same GPUs, same extra SSDs. It's the same system except for the motherboard that I have had for about 3 years.


Error code: 0xC004F211


I went through the "Troubleshoot" process and selected "I changed hardware on this device recently" and I consistently get the message,

"Unable to activate windows"

"We can't reactivate Windows as our servers aren't available right now. Wait for a few minutes or try adding your Microsoft account again. "


I have waited a few minutes and tried over and over.


I am logged in as the administrator, the same login information I used since day one 3 years ago.


I still have my product key and I entered it and I get this message.

"Unable to activate windows"

We can't activate windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital licence or product key. If you think you do have a valid licence key, select troubleshoot below. 0x803fa067


Windows 10 home 64 bit


Any suggestions would be helpful because I will not pay for a new copy of windows to replace the one Microsoft deactivated because they made a mistake.

Motherboard Upgraded: Windows wont activate.

Also, as I was following steps to move Windows from one motherboard to the other, I was told to "deactivate" Windows on my current device. After doing so, the device was no longer in my list of devices that were linked to my account. Could this have caused
Windows not to realize I

had any licence to begin with?

Thanks for the reply.

I built the PC myself and it is\was a retail Windows 8 Pro license upgraded to 10.

The guide listed that I should be able to transfer the license, and following the steps given when selecting "I recently changed hardware" in the activation process it does not list my previous device to select from.

My Microsoft account is logged in on both my old and new motherboard, and my old motherboard is unable to boot at all to deactivate or retrieve any keys.

If my license is indeed available for transfer, how can I proceed from here?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
