Windows 10: Windows deactivated after updating motherboard BIOS

My windows 10 pro deactivated itself after i updated the BIOS on my motherboard. At first after updating nothing seemed to be wrong, but after gaming for a few hours the watermark came onto the screen. I tried all the troubleshooters etc. that i found, and also tried updating windows. After that the watermark is gone, but windows still isn't activated. I had a local account to make windows as simple and plain as possible, so that wont help either i guess. This is the error message I got: "We can't activate Windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or product key. If

Updating motherboard bios deactivates Windows 10

Sorry but this is simply pathetic. Just updated bios on my skylake motherboard and my windows 10 got deactivated.... New platform, z170 probably plenty of more bioses to come and every time I update my motherboard I will have to upgrade system all over again
to make it work.

This is second time it requires from me to do it. Previously I changed partition on my hard drive and again..."windows requires activation".

Does it have to be so dumb that "update" detects as "hardware change". The new system is very poor anyway as I have retail version so why should I upgrade everytime I change anything in my PC.

Why pirates have less problems than people who actually pay for it. Paid for windows 8 retail (upgrade).

Also support on the phone/chat is not helpful at all even though they see what key/upgrades/system you have they just not gonna do anything to help you other than saying "you have to upgrade again"

Still can't reproduce. Could you please post the exact BIOSes that produce the issue?

 

Updated Bios and Microsoft deactivated my Windows 11 Pro License,

After I updated my motherboard BIOS Microsoft deactivated my legal purchased WIN11 Pro 23H2 licence. My legal copy of WIn11 displays Activate Windows Go to settings to activate Windows. I cannot activate Windows.

It had been working previously as an activated copy of Win11.

I have contacted support but still awaiting a response
I am very disappointed that updating the motherboard BIOS deactivates Windows 11 & can see there are other people complaining about this.

Microsoft you need to reactivate my copy of Win!!
