Windows 10: Windows Defender Account Protection sign in wont recognise my password

I have tried several times to sign into the account protection to set it up on a new computer but it will not recognise my password. I have also tried resetting password and changing it but I get the same response as below:

Hello! My Windows 10 laptop, which is linked to my Microsoft account, stopped recognising my password. I tried resetting password but it did not help. What steps should I take to sign in?

About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Accounts.
• Click on Sign in options.
• On the right side, you will see required sign in.
• Change it to Never.
