Windows 10: Windows Defender and Hackers

Hello,


I stumbled across the community discussion page when I was looking for some info about Windows Defender. I like some fellow posters have some questions about Defender and keeping it up to date.

My doubts have arisen from the fact that my laptop and android phone have been hacked this year The primary lapse in security was my Google account making personal info liberally available to third parties, who then hacked my Gmail account and then everything else followed after that.

I was just trying to get an idea from the community how many people may have had a similar experience ? It has been hard to shrug off these parasites. I think the only way is to make sure you get rid of your hardware --computers, phones and sims. New accounts have to be established with particular attention being paid to not cross 're-infecting' new accounts and equipment with the old stuff as you re- establish your data bases etc.

I would be particularly grateful and extremely interested in hearing from people who have had similar experiences.

Windows Defender problem

Hi Ernst,

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.

Let us know the result.

Installing Apps on Windows 10 Has Windows Defender Finding Malware

  Is this issue specific to third party apps?
  

I would suggest you to open Windows defender and add exclusions and check if it helps. Follow the steps to add exclusions in windows Defender.

  Type Windows defender settings in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Under Exclusions click on Add Exclusion
