Windows 10: Windows Defender application glitch

This all started happening when I accidently downloaded a virus to my computer. Windows Defender reported back saying that I had a virus so I decided to go onto File Explorer and remove the files manually. It kept saying I had threats on my PC so I removed them but they kept saying I still had threats, supposedly since I decided to remove them manually. After one day, the whole application froze and never opened again. Should I be worried that I'm not getting virus protection?

BlueSound OS conflict with Windows Defender

I understand that Windows Defender blocks BluOS app. It is very unusual that Windows Defender blocks the app. However, I would suggest you to try adding the app to the Exclusion list of Windows Defender and see if that helps.



To add the application to the Exclusion list, please refer the steps mentioned in the article

Add an exclusion to Windows Security.

Can't launch any applications

Hi,

This error message will show if the application or program that you are trying to open was been blocked by Windows Defender SmartScreen. Having said that, we suggest that you disable Windows Defender SmartScreen by following these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type Windows Defender Security Center.
• Click on App & browser control.
• Click on Off in the following options:
  • Check apps and files.
  • SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge.
  • SmartScreen for Windows Store apps.
• SmartScreen is now completely disabled. If you'd like to still receive a warning when a potentially malicious file or program is detected, you can choose Warn in each SmartScreen option.

Windows Defender problem

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.
