    Windows Defender Definition-Failure


    Hi, something isn't right with my updates. The definition Update for Windows Defender - (KB2267602 1.217.1293.0) failed to install and is still sitting among my update alerts. However when I ran update from inside Windows Defender it successfully installed me 1.217.1303.0 definition which actually is the more recent one. So why the update of previous definition (i.e. 1293) still sitting in my updates prompt?

    All my computers run Windows 10.

    Since July 13, 2016 there is a failure of automatic update of the virus definition file.

    My current version is 1.225.1289.0 and Windows Update and Windows Defender cannot download the latest version:
