    i have always seen the windows defender shield icon when i download stuff that i know isn't malware but today i tried to download something and it gave me a defender notification that looked like a pit bull in front of a laptop and i cant find anything about it i remember hearing something about different icons meaning different levels of severity but like i said i cant find anything about it

    Suggestion to have an option to change Notification Area icon this way too.
    Suggestion to finally have proper separate Options window like most (all?) Windows programs do.

    Remove windows defender icon from the tray on win 10

    Hi Vaso,

    To help you remove Windows Defender icon from your computer's system tray, you may follow these steps:

    • Right-click taskbar, and then choose Settings.
    • Under Notification area, click Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
    • Turn off the Windows Defender notification icon.
