Windows 10: Windows Defender found a lot of viruses but I cannot delete them.

Some days ago I ran a full scan and Windows Defender show a lot of viruses with "High" or "Severe" level of threat. I set the actions to "remove" and the process toke most than 12 hours to complete, then when I check again the list still has the same viruses. This is also an issue because now, each time I open Windows Defenders it get stuck since the list is more or less about 80 or 100 items.For what I can see, most or all of them are from the Recycle Bin. I deleted all the files from the Recycle Bin and then run an offline scan but didn't change anything.I saw on another post instructions to

Based on the screenshot that you've provided, Controlled Folder Access is turned on, blocking most apps that you're using. We suggest that you turn it off to allow blocked apps in Windows Defender. Follow the steps below:

• Select Start > Settings.
• Choose Update & security > Windows Defender.
• Select Open Windows Defender Security Center.
• Select Virus & threat protection, and then choose Virus & threat protection settings.
• Under Controlled folder access, turn it on or off.
• Once done, try accessing the apps and see if you can now access them.

This issue might occur if you have set any task scheduler for Windows Defender.

I suggest you to delete the task for Windows defender and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

  Microsoft >Windows >Windows Defender.
