Windows 10: windows defender gets stuck in the middle of the full scan

Windows defender gets stuck about 2/3rds of the way through a full scan.My version of windows is as follows:Edition Windows 11 Home Version 23H2 Installed on ‎30/‎01/‎2023 OS build 22631.4460 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1047.0 My hardware isevice name LAPTOP-EH1DI56E Processor AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.10 GHz Installed RAM 8.00 GB 6.94 GB usable Device ID B2B64775-D3DB-4C78-8C4B-D9A9D3361200 Product ID 00325-81738-26324-AAOEM System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this

This issue might occur if you have set any task scheduler for Windows Defender.

I suggest you to delete the task for Windows defender and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Search and open Schedule tasks.
  
• 
  In the left-hand menu, open the Task Scheduler Library, then select
  Microsoft >Windows >Windows Defender.
  
• 
  Double-click Windows Defender Scheduled Scan.
  
• 
  Select the Triggers panel, then select Delete.

Windows Defender offline scan stucked at 92%

Hi guys. I'm working on finding out why my laptop is booting so slow after entering PIN code and I've started from following this tutorial: Optimize Performance of Windows 10 but I'm stucked at the first step. Windows defender custom scan does not scan external drives

Hi Joe,

to scan external drives using Windows Defender, follow the steps provided below.

• Open Windows Defender.
• Go to Settings tab.
• Select the Advanced option.
• tick the checkbox for Scan removable drives.
