    Windows Defender Group Policies


    I am running Windows 10 (AU) 1607, and under the Windows Defender Group Policy setting I had set the Send File Samples when Further Analysis is Required to be SEND SAFE SAMPLES.

    What is the difference between Send Safe Samples and Send All Samples?

    Windows 10 Defender not turning on

    I cannot turn on windows defender in my Windows 10 x64 Home premium build 1607, I received message that I have to enable this in Group Policy, I could not find group policy in this windows version 10 home premium, I have manually installed gpedit.msc and
    started it, the group policy edited yet I could not find option to enable windows defender it look missing, while in the main windows setting at the update and security setting when I select windows defender it says windows defender is turned off by group
    policy and that I need to enable it in group policy to start it when I click on turn on windows defender!

    What can I do any help is very much appreciated.

    To allow this application to run, contact your security administrator to enable the program via group policy.

    How do I enable windows defender via group policy.

    I thought "safe samples" didn't contain personal info whereas "all samples" could contain it.

    That was the distinction in the privacy settings upgrading to CU anyway.
