Windows 10: Windows Defender issue

So a few days ago I noticed that the Windows Defender Antivirus on my brand spanking new PC had disabled itself. The message that it gives me is "Threat service has stopped, restart it now". While trying to restart it just for a bit and eventually tells me that it didn't work and to try again.

Now I don't have any other antivirus-softwares except this and Malwarebytes. Tried to scan my PC for rootkits with Malwarebytes and everything seems OK.

Computer is 2 weeks old, everything was working fine up until 3 days-ish ago and I have no idea what set it off.

• On the Start menu, type Windows Defender and hit enter.

I would suggest you to open Windows defender and add exclusions and check if it helps. Follow the steps to add exclusions in windows Defender.

  Type Windows defender settings in the search bar and press enter

  Under Exclusions click on Add Exclusion
