Hi my windows 11 microsoft security i keep getting protection has blocked these; DST.exe \Device\Harddisk0\DR0DataExchangeHost.exe %userprofile%\FavoritesI been getting both of these at least once a day or both in same day. so i guess i am getting these notices after using certain web sites maybe. when i was using the free 2 weeks of malwear bytes i never got these notices. and 4 months ago using Macaffe security for 1 month i never got any of these .exe files trying to get thru my firewall. what does anyone think what to do? I run scans and security finds nothing. and i can use malwaerbyt

Corrupt registry settings or some third party product (or virus) can change the default configuration for running EXE files. This may lead to failed operation when you try to run EXE files. Having said that, you may want to turn off the
Controlled folder access in Windows Defender and see if it makes any difference. You can follow the steps below:

1. Open Windows Defender Security Center.
   
2. Select Virus & threat protection.
   
3. Click Virus & threat protection settings.
4. Scroll down to Mange Controlled folder access then toggle it
   Off.

Windows Defender Keeps Deleting File, Even Excluded

So I have a .exe file to play a game. It is a small game and so the file isn't registered or anything like that.

Windows Defender declared it a virus and deleted it, so I added it to the Exclusions list, but for some reason it keeps deleting it anyways. The only effective way to keep it is to turn off Windows Defender, but even then Defender will turn back on at some
random point and delete it again. I have had to just keep redownloading this file to keep playing. I can't seem to find a way to stop it from doing this. Also, I am sure it is not a virus, nor has one hidden in it.

This is super annoying, if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

 

.exe files being blocked

Can anyone help with this odd problem that started yesterday (11 Dec). When I turn on my Windows 10 laptop I keep getting numerous pop ups telling me various .exe files have been blocked. For example conhost.exe; SearchFilterHost.exe; usoclient.exe; backgroundTaskHost.exe;
Googleupdate.exe and lots more. In addition I can't open any Excel or Word files - I get an error message saying word encountered a problem and needs to close.

I've tried restoring to an earlier date - no success as it fails to complete the restore; I've scanned for viruses with my anti-virus software (Panda) and Windows Defender but no viruses have been detected. The firewall is on - blocking the .exe files -
but should I allow them in??

I've never encountered any thing like this... any advice would be great
