Discus and support WIndows Defender keeps pointing out to me every time I run a scan that I have adware from... in AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security to solve the problem; I keep manually removing them, but every time I scan it a new one shows up.     I keep manually removing them, but every time I scan it a new one shows up. The Control panel won't allow me to delete it. I've had 20+ of these. This is in the windows 11 beta. IT says the app was removed, but I go back to the control panel it's still there. When I try to uninstall it, it says " The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

    Defender not Running Regular Scan


    I've never understood the need some people feel to set up a scheduled task to run a Defender scan. For the past year the automatic maintenance has run Defender scans for me.

    That is, until the Anniversary Upgrade - it broke something and Defender never ran another scan. It finally alerted me that a scan was long overdue. I followed the suggestion on another thread...
    Windows Defender No Longer Performs AutoScan
    ...and the automatic maintenance scans are back to running regularly again.
